Flash of Light, Fog of War Exhibition – Ackland

The Ackland Art Museum on UNC campus has consistently marvelous exhibitions rotating through its quiet galleries, all in need of vibe-appropriate logos and promotional materials. Flash of Light, Fog of War was an exhibition of historical Japanese military woodblock prints documenting battle scenes in the early 20th century. Early logo explorations for the logo included forays into hand-drawn letterforms based on Japanese Kanji, solid framing, and bold, angled bars often favored in vintage Japanese newspaper spreads.
