Our neighborhood has at least one pair of these swift and vocal owls roosting in our trees, eating up our rodents, so I thought a Barred Owl would make a great addition to the Fauna Collection. Last summer, the neighborhood where I live had the opportunity to rename. It was a big process. Lots of suggestions were made, votes tallied, hoops jumped. In the end, we settled on naming our streets after the Barred Owls that flit through our trees and that pleases me so very much.
