Packs of coyotes roam the hills surrounding the our family’s lake camp. I’ll never forget the hot summer night I woke up to hear a pack of coyotes on the hunt, their yips, trills, and howls echoing over the hillside and into my open bedroom window. The crescendo of howls before cutting to complete silence. It was so beautifully eerie, and now I always leave my bedroom window open in the summer in hopes of hearing it again.
