Night Feast

— 4×6” original art
— charcoal, pastel, and copper metallic pencil
— toned, acid free paper

Let me introduce you to the lesser long-nosed bat. These nectar-lovin’ little cuties help pollinate saguaro cacti (blooms pictured) and blue agave plants (so if you’re a tequila drinker, tip your hat to these pretty babies now). ⁣While we don’t have this type of bat in North Carolina, bats are prevalent, and it is one of my very favorite activities to watch the sky darken on summer evenings and the dark shapes swooping through the trees, munching on bugs.

The

Fauna Collection

This collection of beautiful 4×6″ charcoal pencil and linoprint originals were created in the month of October as a meditation on the diversity of nature found in our back yards. Following prompts from the Wild October draw list, many of the creatures featured are characters in my own life story. Now it’s time for them to have a place in your home.
